Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers is a 2022 live-action/animated film based on the animated television series of the same name. The movie serves not only as a reboot, but also as a comeback to the animated series for the first time in decades. Viewers who have not seen the animated series of ‘Rescue Rangers’ will get a glimpse of the series from this movie. Moreover, audiences are given a glance at the life of mediocrity in a world where humans and cartoon characters live together in this comeback.
The actors behind the original voices of Chip ‘N Dale, Andy Samberg and John Mulaney, are all grown up. Viewers can tell how the dynamic duo has changed decades later since the original television series of the same name got canceled. Also, a lot of things happening within the mediocrity of the show have changed since the Chip ‘n Dale duo drifted apart. Such changes include, cartoon characters being kidnapped, so their appearances can be altered for bootleg versions of the original films.
Throughout this comeback film, viewers will find many cameos and references to cartoon characters from different animation studios, such as The Walt Disney Company and Nickelodeon. This version of ‘Rescue Rangers’ brings cartoon characters to life in our universe. In addition, the beloved characters Chip ‘n Dale reunite when one of their former cast members goes missing. This conflict brings back the adventures of the Rescue Rangers as the film ties with the original series.
The Ugly Sonic character is an altered version of Sonic the Hedgehog, a popular video-game character. This shows viewers that altered versions of cartoon characters are real in this mediocrity. The altered versions symbolize fan-made art in the real world.
Though the ‘Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers’ movie makes a good comeback, viewers can see there is little representation and diversity. Many of the actors playing their characters’ voices are white men. Though we see there is some representation of African-Americans, they don’t have major roles in this film.
